Our social media team is always looking at other great social media profiles to spark our creativity. Sometimes when we hit a wall with our ideas, stalking other companies give us something to brainstorm off of! That’s why we’re highlighting our favorite companies on social media, and this month we’re shouting out STARBUCKS!
What is Starbucks?
Starbucks is a coffeehouse chain and coffee roaster that originated in Seattle, Washington, but has grown to over 28,000 shops worldwide. The company distinguishes itself from other coffee shops by its high-quality coffee and sets out to be a place where customers can connect with employees and each other.
How did we discover Starbucks?
Here at IDG Advertising, there are days that we just cannot get through without a morning (and sometimes afternoon) Starbucks run. We just knew that a great place like Starbucks would have a fantastic social media branding too.
How well does Starbucks know their audience?
Since everybody goes to Starbucks to drink coffee or tea, Starbucks has a very diverse audience. Having a large audience can be tricky for some companies, but Starbucks does a great job of staying true to their brand and connecting with their audience! They share photos of new drinks that get customers excited and repost photos from their customers to boost engagement across Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
What can you take from Starbucks?
Starbucks has 11.4 million on Twitter, 17.3 million followers on Instagram, and over 37 million on Facebook. It’s safe to say they’re doing something right and there are a few things we can learn from them!
- Starbucks put customers first. It’s safe to say that Starbucks cares a lot about their customers and are always open to feedback based on the way they respond to comments. Whether they are affirming their customers or offering to help, their customer’s happiness is a top priority.
- Starbucks keeps things branded. Their famous green mermaid logo can be seen across a majority of their posts, which allows their feed to be cohesive and aesthetically pleasing.
- Starbucks goes beyond itself. The company has never hesitated to be charitable and share their heart with the world. Starbucks hosts volunteer events for good causes, and they love to promote it!
Starbucks’ branding is incredible, and it’s something we admire about their social media campaign techniques. Is there anything about their social media that you love that we may have missed? Let us know!
Stay tuned every month for another social shoutout! Don’t hesitate to let us know if there’s a company that you really admire in the industry, so we can make sure to give them a follow!
