Nothing says LA more than an over-the-top, Instagrammable, celebrity-filled pumpkin patch. What started as a quaint, seasonal tradition for families has, over the past 30 years, transformed into a larger-than-life tourist destination. From inflatable slides to pony rides and tipi villages, Mr. Bones has everything you need for the perfect autumnal day out – including, of course, plenty of pumpkins. That’s why Mr. Bones is this month’s IDG #SundayFunday destination!
Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch was first opened in Westwood in 1987. Oregon farmers Becky and David Campbell opened Mr. Bones so that Los Angeles children could experience the wholesome fun of a traditional country pumpkin patch in the city. Over the years, Mr. Bones has moved from Westwood to Beverly Hills and on to West Hollywood, and it now permanently resides in Culver City. It began as a small, local pumpkin patch, but it has now expanded into a month-long immersive experience that is a must-see for locals and tourists alike.
Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch is perhaps best known for its extensive celebrity clientele. For decades, Hollywood’s biggest stars have flocked to Mr. Bones with their families in order to get into the Halloween spirit. From Harry Styles and Jennifer Lopez to Jessica Alba and Kourtney Kardashian, you never know who you’ll see when you visit the pumpkin patch. In fact, paparazzi regularly patrol the fence in order to catch a glimpse of an A-lister.
Celebrity sightings aren’t the only thing to do at Mr. Bones. There are numerous fun and interactive activities for visitors of all ages to engage in. Fill your day with inflatable bounce houses, super slides, a petting zoo, pony rides, face painting, pumpkin decorating, a straw maze, and more! There’s also a pumpkin village and tipi village where guests can explore and lounge around. Bring your whole family, including your furry friends, for a full day of Halloween fun.
If you’re looking for a fun and unique way to get into the seasonal spirit this #SundayFunday, stop by Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch. Adults and kids alike will enjoy picking pumpkins and exploring the dozens of exciting activities available. Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch is open until October 30.
