#SUNDAYFUNDAY: Golden Road Brewing

If you’re looking for the perfect spot to hang out on summer evenings after a long day at work, look no further than Golden Road Brewing. If the name sounds familiar, it should. Golden Road is a popular line of locally-brewed beers founded in 2011 that was purchased by Anheuser-Busch in 2015. After opening their original Atwater Village pub in 2012, Golden Road has expanded to include four locations, including Anaheim, Los Angeles, and Sacramento.

Founders Meg Gill and Tony Yanow created Golden Road with the goal of crafting fresh local beer as sustainably as possible. They have injected the fun and chilled nature of Los Angeles into every aspect of their brand, from the palm trees in the logo to the colorful and fun flavors of their signature brews. Brewed and canned in California, their beers include Wolf Pup Session IPA, Point the Way IPA, Golden Road Hefeweizen, Wolf Among Weeds IPA, Melon Cart Ale, and Mango Cart Ale. They also make a point to constantly experiment with unique flavor combinations, offering a collection of seasonal and limited-edition brews at their locations.

Golden Road’s playful and extremely laid-back atmosphere is what makes it an IDG-approved Sunday Funday location. They have a large selection of beers on tap, and their food is consistently five stars. Inside, you’ll find rainbow-painted walls and endless rows of picnic tables to accommodate even the largest groups.

Their outdoor space is especially spectacular – they offer an outdoor bar and seating as well as a sandy area in one corner complete with beach chairs and a hammock. Cornhole and ping pong tables are available to play with also, encouraging visitors to enjoy their experience thoroughly. The outdoor picnic table seating, perfect for the crowds of baseball fans that fill the Anaheim location pre-game, is surrounded by heaters for the winter cold and umbrellas for the summer sun.

The vibrant colors and industrial decor contribute to the laid-back, youthful SoCal vibe that Golden Road has become known for. They exude lighthearted fun and a good time at every turn. Although only those age 21 or over can indulge in their eponymous beer brand, Golden Road’s pub is fun for the whole family, which is why it’s IDG-approved for the perfect summer #SundayFunday.
